(Nov. 13, 2006, Taipei) SinoPac Holdings (#2890) hosts a celebration today to commemorate the merger of its two subsidiaries, Bank SinoPac and International Bank of Taipei; the two entities become Bank SinoPac (named Yuen Foong Bank in Chinese). The event also marks the inauguration of SinoPac Holdings' new corporate identity system, which is designed based on the Chinese character "yuen." According to Mr. S. C. Ho, Chairman of SinoPac Holdings, SinoPac Holdings has completed its integration phrase, and achieved its goal to streamline its products, services, managements, systems, and corporate images; going forward, SinoPac Holdings strive to move closer to its corporate vision and become " the Financial Silk Road of the 21st century."
Chairman Ho says, "the design of SinoPac's new logo is based on the Chinese character "yuen," which carries the meaning of "continuous fortune and abundant life;" the word also conveys endless wealth like the ever-flowing water." The red background and the white word mark represent the ancient Chinese coin and the old Chinese philosophic view of the universe. Moreover, the new logo resembles the service attitude of SinoPac Holdings.
Mr. Paul Lo, CEO of SinoPac Holdings and Chairman of Bank SinoPac, states that after the merger, Bank SinoPac's total asset exceeds NT$1 trillion (1.21 trillion as of end of September.) The Bank is ranked number 4 local private-owned bank in terms of total asset. With 129 branches, in which 93 of them are located in the Taipei metropolitan, Bank SinoPac has the unparalleled branch network coverage in the area. Bank SinoPac was rated by the November edition of Global View Monthly Magazine as the best bank in its "2006 Excellent Service Award." The Bank scored 83 points, way ahead of the second runner who earned 74.8.
