(January 10, 2005, Taipei) South Asia Tsunami devastated the lives of many around the Indian Ocean. SinoPac Holdings (TSE 2890) is sympathetic to the victims and their families, and it showed its support for those who lost their loved-ones and homes in this tragedy by making a donation of NT$8 million dollars for this cause. As of today, SinoPac Holdings and its subsidiaries, Bank SinoPac and SinoPac Securities, have collectively donated NT$8 millions -- NT$5 millions of the which went to the relief efforts sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the remaining amount went to the Tzu Chi Foundation in response to an awakening call made by its Master Cheng Yen to take part in this humanitarian relief efforts.

The tsunami off the coasts of Indian Ocean devastated the lives of many. SinoPac Holdings strives to do its part to come to the aid of those who are affected by this event.
